Through a brief presentation led by Dr. Susan D. Block, as well as an active discussion with the group, we will explore some of the issues that arise at different stages of the cancer trajectory to identify challenges and potential resources for patients and families to promote the highest possible quality of life for the patient and family.
Program Goals:
- Help participants support loved ones through active conversation and shared decision-making throughout the course of illness.
- Provide information about supportive care options (e.g., mental health, young adult needs, parenting support, symptom management, and palliative care) to empower patients and family members to advocate for the care they want.
- Actively engage family members in addressing their caregiving needs and concerns.
