Free Appendiceal Cancer CME Course Now Available

We’re proud to spotlight a new appendiceal cancer CME (Continuing Medical Education) course in partnership with the Medical College of Wisconsin.

The Neoplastic Appendix: When to Watch, When to Act, When to Refer is designed to help clinicians navigate the complexities of diagnosing and managing appendiceal neoplasms.

As the incidence of appendiceal tumors continues to rise, more clinicians are encountering these cases in clinical practice. However, diagnostic pitfalls remain common. Because of this, providers across primary care, emergency medicine, radiology, and general surgery increasingly need clear guidance on how to recognize and manage these conditions.

This CME activity provides non-specialist providers with a structured, evidence-informed approach to diagnosing and managing appendiceal neoplasms.

Course Overview

Led by Dr. Ugwuji N. Maduekwe, this virtual program equips learners to recognize key clinical, laboratory, and radiographic findings associated with appendiceal neoplasms.

In particular, the course introduces a practical Watch, Act, Refer framework to help clinicians determine appropriate next steps in patient care. In addition, participants will learn how to coordinate care effectively with surgical and oncologic colleagues.

Throughout the program, case-based examples, imaging pearls, and patient advocacy perspectives reinforce best practices for diagnosis, surveillance, intervention, and referral.

Target Audience

This course is designed for:

  • Physicians

  • Advanced Practice Providers

Particularly those working in:

  • Primary Care

  • Emergency Medicine
