The ACPMP Research Foundation Team is Growing!

The Appendix Cancer Pseudomyxoma Peritonei Research Foundation (ACPMP) is pleased to announce that Deborah Shelton will now serve as Executive Director.  Deborah began working with ACPMP as our Medical Liaison in late 2018 after her spouse was diagnosed with appendix cancer. Deborah’s addition to the team has been instrumental to ACPMP’s growth as she is able to leverage her 20+ years of experience providing legal counsel to clients navigating the complex regulations governing the testing and commercialization of FDA-regulated products (with a particular focus on pharmaceuticals and medical devices) to the benefit of our patient community.  Deborah will continue to leverage that expertise in her new role, where she will be responsible for the planning, organization, and direction of ACPMP programs, in particular the ACPMP Research Program and our Educational Programs.  As Executive Director, Deborah will be responsible for building relationships with other AC/PMP stakeholders (government, medical institutions, nonprofits, advocacy groups, etc.); establish sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with community groups and organizations; and represent the programs and point of view of the organization to agencies, organizations, and the public.

Heather Rye-Ronshaugen

ACPMP is also thrilled to welcome Heather Rye-Ronshaugen as Staff Assistant.  Heather will take the lead in managing, processing, and tracking donations to the organization, and will assist the ACPMP staff with marketing, human resources, and finance responsibilities as well as with our research and educational programs. Heather spent 15 years in healthcare as a Radiologic Technologist and holds a B.S. degree in Radiation Science. She cared for patients in multiple modalities including diagnostic radiology, CT, and MRI.  Heather was diagnosed with pseudomyxoma peritonei in 2014 and is excited for the opportunity to raise awareness and promote education on behalf of ACPMP.

Congratulations to Deborah and Heather on their new roles, ACPMP ia thrilled to have you on board as we continue to grow and expand our programs to better serve the appendix cancer and pseudomyxoma peritonei community.
