Andreana N. Holowatyj, PhD, MS, Assistant Professor of Medicine and Cancer Biology, Vanderbilt University Medical Center presented “Appendix Cancer in Young Adults: A Distinct Disease Burden” via Zoom on February 17, 2021.
The objectives of this webinar were to: (1) summarize current literature on the distinct burden of appendix cancer among young patients; (2) understand the context of health disparities within the early-onset appendix cancer population; and (3) broaden knowledge in early-onset appendix cancer and ongoing research.
Dr. Raoof with City of Hope Cancer Center presented an educational webinar on December 16, 2020, “Regional Therapy for Appendiceal Carcinomatosis: Past, Present, and Future”. This webinar included information about the different types of appendiceal tumors, molecular profiles, therapeutic approaches, and information regarding the first U.S. clinical trial for a new investigational therapy – PIPAC (Pressurized Intraperitoneal Aerosolized Chemotherapy) – for which Dr. Raoof is a co-investigator and that is currently ongoing. The event featured a live Q&A and was hosted by The ACPMP Research Foundation.
