ANTHONY’S STORY
Anthony began having stomach pains back in September of 2021. He had a CT scan done and doctors told him that his appendix was inflamed. It looked a little different than the norm which lead to reasons for concern. He was advised to have his appendix removed, and so he did. Once the surgery was completed, a biopsy was also done to rule out any other possibilities. Anthony received the news that no one is ever prepared to receive- a diagnosis of stage 4 goblet cell carcinoma.
This cancer is sporadic, to be exact, it affects about 1 in 2 million people. Immediately after his diagnosis, Anthony began chemotherapy. His blood work was coming back great and his Pet scans came back clear of disease. This led all of us to believe he was on his way to remission.
Recently, Anthony went in to do an invasive surgery with hopes that the disease had been completely eradicated and that the cancer did not invade any surrounding tissue. Unfortunately, we have received the most devastating news; the cancer spread, and they found numerous small tumors throughout his intestines now. Surgically removing the tumors at this point is not an option.
Anthony is a loving husband and devoted father to Eli. Anyone that knows Anthony knows that he always looks for the positive in every situation and always sees the cup half full. Anthony has still managed to take care of his wife and son throughout this very difficult time and has always made sure they received the support they needed. Anthony is not only a husband and father, but a son, brother, uncle, and friend to many of us. Age is on our side, and we have all hope Anthony will beat this cancer!
We ask that if you are unable to contribute financially, that you please stand in the gap and pray with us for healing over Anthony’s body, for strength, guidance, love, peace, joy, and wisdom over the next steps. Help us pray for miracles for Anthony and his family.
We love you all and thank you for taking the time to read this.
