A letter from Drew:

Dear Friends & Family,

I hope this message finds you and yours well.

I have been looking for a new adventure and decided to challenge myself with my first half-marathon run. I was always inspired by my dad’s love of the outdoors and his quest to find a new “mountain to climb”. That could be anything from training for a triathlon, a century bike ride, swimming from Alcatraz, or under the Golden Gate Bridge or summiting various peaks around the globe.

My dad’s battle with cancer may have slowed him down, but he never gave up his love for being in nature and pushing himself to his physical limits. Snow skiing was his true passion, and his IKON ski pass got more use in his last few years than at any other time in his life. Despite his difficult chemo times, he always felt great gliding down a trail at his beloved Mammoth Mountain.

On November 11th, I will run the Pocantico Hills Half Marathon race in Sleepy Hollow, NY. Accompanying me will be my good friend and co-NYU nursing school friend, Dean Ostrofsky. Having a fellow RN, who is a seasoned runner, along for the ride will definitely push me towards the goal of raising funds for the Appendix Cancer Pseudomyxoma Peritoneal Research Foundation (ACPMP). This wonderful organization’s purpose is to raise funds for appendix cancer research and education.

I hope you will help me by supporting my effort to raise as much money as possible for ACPMP and their work to find a cure for this rare disease.

My regards and many thanks,

Drew Goldberg
