Poetry by the Bay Presents – 12 Rounds: A Spoken Word Event

Come join us in celebrating Kyrah Ayers‘ victory over “The Visitor” (formerly known as Appendix Cancer) at Mare Island Art Studios! Get ready to unleash your inner artist during the open mic section and be prepared to be inspired as Kyrah, founder of Poetry By The Bay, walks us through his 12 rounds of chemotherapy through poetry!

This event is brought to as a collaboration between Poetry By The Bay, Artiszen AND Mare Island Art Studios as part of their Art of Community installation. Signed copies of Kyrah’s recently released book My Light will be available for sale as well. Book signings will take place 3pm-4pm.

August is Appendix Cancer Awareness Month: A portion of all proceeds will go to support the Appendix Cancer Research Foundation.
