Expectations, Regret, and Caregiver Burden
Whether you’re a patient with appendiceal cancer or caring for someone who is, you’re not alone in facing the big questions and emotions that come with it. In this webinar, Dr. Alissa Greenbaum and Dr. Kimberly Kopecky will talk openly about setting realistic expectations before surgery, what we know about decision regret, including the latest research, and the important, often challenging role caregivers play.
There will also be a Q&A session, and you’re encouraged to submit your questions in advance during registration or ask them live during the event. Drs. Greenbaum and Kopecky welcome questions not only about the presentation topics but about appendiceal cancer in general, CRS/HIPEC, treatment options, and what’s ahead in research.
This session is free and open to patients, caregivers, and anyone who wants to feel more prepared and supported.
Bring your questions and reflections — we hope you’ll join us for this thoughtful, supportive conversation.
Questions and comments are welcome on topics such as:
- Why realistic expectations matter
- How expectations have shaped your decisions and recovery
- Postoperative regret
- Caregiver burden and the caregiver role
- What made your CRS/HIPEC experience positive or what you wish you had done differently
- What you wish you had known earlier in your journey
- And anything else!
This webinar is free & open to all. All registrants will get access to the webinar recording after it is complete.
