CRS: cytoreductive surgery

DPAM: disseminated peritoneal adenomucinosis

EPIC: early postoperative intraperitoneal chemotherapy

FOLFIRI: chemotherapy regimen consisting folinic acid/leucovorin (FOL), Fluorouracil/5-FU (F), irinotecan/Camptosar (IRI)

FOLFOX: chemotherapy regimen consisting folinic acid/leucovorin (FOL), Fluorouracil/5-FU (F), and oxaliplatin/Eloxatin (OX)

GCC: goblet cell carcinoid

HAMN: high-grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasm

HIPEC: hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy

IPHC: intraperitoneal hyperthermic chemotherapy

LAMN: low-grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasm

MOAS: “mother of all surgeries;” a colloquial term to describe the CRS+HIPEC procedure

NED: no evidence of disease

NET: carcinoid (neuroendocrine) tumors arising from the neuroendocrine versus the epithelial cells of the appendix

PC: peritoneal carcinomatosis

PMC/PMCA: peritoneal mucinous carcinomatosis

PMCA-I: peritoneal mucinous carcinomatosis-intermediate

PMP: pseudomyxoma peritonei

PSM: peritoneal surface malignanancy

SRC: signet ring cell
